Speeding Into Third Place Following Mid-Ohio

Onward and upward, that’s the path the No. 10 Konica Minolta Cadillac DPi-V.R. team is taking this IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season.

Following the Acura Sports Car Challenge at Mid-Ohio, the team moved from fourth to third place in the standings with 113 points. Just seven points separate the Konica Minolta team from the top.

Team drivers Jordan Taylor and Renger van der Zande took on the two-hour, 40-minute race at Mid-Ohio . The final 38 minutes of the race found Taylor battling his older brother Ricky Taylor of the No. 7 Team Penske Acura Dpi team. It was a close matchup with Jordan finishing just .961 seconds behind Ricky.

The team started the championship season strong with a first place win at the Rolex 24 at Daytona followed by a nail-biting second place finish at the 12 Hours of Sebring. A difficult race at the Bubba Burger Sports Car Grand Prix at Long Beach last month saw them move into fourth in the standings - but only three points behind the first place team.

“It was a very tough weekend,” van der Zande said. “A bit of luck here and there, but altogether we have some work to do on this track and I think we should look ahead from now on as we go to Detroit, which is a track that, historically, has been good for this team.”1

The Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix at the Raceway on Belle Isle Park circuit kicks off on Saturday, June 1. Follow along with the action live with television coverage provided by NBCSN beginning at 12:30 p.m. EDT. After the race, look for a recap on our IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship page.
